Rapid Deployment Solution SAP CRM

Pieter Rijlaarsdam, 28 September 2011
Recently SAP introduced Rapid Deployment Solutions (RDS) to the market. RDS is a new way of implementing SAP software for new or existing customers based on predefined services and pre-configured content. This initial post describes the new SAP CRM RDS product. More details as well as ‘hands on information’ can be expected on this blog in a later stage.
RDS or traditional project approach?
Implementing SAP CRM software in a traditional way means often a long period of blueprinting, customizing, test and training. It’s usually a large investment with a certain risk and the return of this investment is calculated over a long period of time. SAP understands that the market is changing. More and more customers are looking for a immediate solution to fulfill basic needs at a minimum risk and low investments and TCO.
The CRM Rapid Deployment Solution meets these customer needs by offering an CRM implementation within 6 – 8 weeks, with a fixed price and fixed scope.
The following SAP CRM related RDS solutions are currently available:

The following diagram shows the different components of an RDS project.
You can choose to add Sales, Marketing and/or Service functionality.
Besides this there are several deployment methods for running your SAP CRM System: Private Cloud, Customer location, or On premise. The Private Cloud and Customer location deployment methods can be done by a SAP Certified Partner. The payment can be done per month or based on a perpetual annual fee.
So, what do you get?
With an implementation of 6 to 8 weeks, you get a full function SAP CRM implementation, but with a limited scope.
The exact content of the RDS solution will be in a future post. In the meantime, if you have specific questions, feel free to leave a comment or email me directly.
